The trees have stories, if you'll only listen

The path is clear as long as I know
it doesn't matter which way I go
the left the right, go up go down
It matters not if you're not in town.

The tree will shelter you from the storm
of regrets and frowns that left you shorn
of happiness, joy, laughter, delight,
it's best that you slither back into the night.

Ivy is still, but waits for no tree

Until it sees this face, and stops waiting for grace.

The arms all reach out and say "halt if you dare!

"Do you know what we'll do?
Turn you into a chair!"

But the boughs know the way
they are eager to share

the trees are too warm
and cut their bark bare.

The older tree sighs
but keeps its stance on the moor.

The tree in spring,
how I wish I could see it in fall.

I just like the Botanic Garden (or more spring in the berkshires)

Pine cones of a different color.

Plants that want to grow up and become New Year's Eve ornaments!

The dreamers have fled, but the dream remains
hanging on stone while the nightfall regains
a sweet scent of peppermint, yes, if you please,
she will breathe gently on you, and laugh if you sneeze.

A tree streaking through the lawn gathers no moss.

I don't know if this is a sunburnt tree or if it's just blushing

or did those limbs belong to other trees that didn't understand boundaries?

Or was the tree trying to warn us

before the other tree whisked it away?

A maze of branches

More Spring in the Berkshires

The preacher and his followers from the back.

This tree SAW the people get turned into trees from the previous page, and wants you to STAY ALERT!

"if you see something, SAY something!"

This is just a preaching tree, surrounded by followers.

The close up:

Pine cones turning into...not pine trees.

What happens to birds who consider their flight for too long.

A demon tree, chasing the other trees into the ground before I can catch them ALL!

The snake tree wondering what to eat.

Another branch tries to keep the demon trees at bay.

Do the baby trees think they can be better trees than the original tree?

And is the original tree going to teach the baby trees a lesson?

(This is NOT the same tree, but I think it MIGHT be, if I could come back here at the right time.)

Georgia O'Keefe found this tree before the tree found itself.

Trees marching toward summer, hopeful that the love this year will last.

This tree is waving them goodbye,

while another tree reaches out a helping hand.

but the hands fall off after they've waived you by.

Somebody's home, but they're not letting you in.

The creek near where we stayed.

Spring in the Berkshires

I was a city kid and I don't think I ever considered what the woods looked like when there weren't a whole lot of leaves, but it wasn't winter anymore.

The daisies are leading the charge, but the ferns aren't too far behind.

This looks like a creature.

I loved the contrasting colors that looked like spring and autumn were having a spat.

I am uncertain as to whether the plant had bells, or grapes had been turned into bells.

Because it was PRETTY!!!!

But this is the tree who will lead you out of the wilderness!

But she may change her mind....

These flowers are sure that if they just flap their petals hard enough, they can lift this branch into flight!

You don't understand what happened!  The preacher was talking about how all the people who don't follow the Lord's true voice are going straight to hell, and those three women were listening, nodding and judging others, certain of their own righteousness.  And somebody felt they all needed to be taught a lesson about pride.

Forgotten Christmas cards are like the velveteen rabbit;  if you just leave them in the cupboard, eventually they become real wishes and go on a quest to find someone for whom to grant them.  At least, that's what these berries told me.

I think this tree wanted to be in a noir film, perhaps the young maiden who is actually the killer.
Perhaps this is what happened to Carmen Sternwood, from The Big Sleep.
