The Middle of the March in the Garden

 A cardinal looking for spring, perhaps?

 

There's a picture of the cherry blossom trees with snow in that blog post, this is what it looks like on a sunny day.

 

The snow is still there, though.

The roses are coming

but they won't be blooming until June.

I think this tree just threw its blossoms away when they didn't grow quickly enough.

Were these trees beheaded and put on display for a reason?!?!
(And was it for treason or blasphemy?)

I think these trees know who did it and are trying to catch the villain (and no, it's not the person with the blue jacket).
