Later in November

 Trees taking over the wall.

The storms have caused havoc, but at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, nature is fighting back.

I'm not sure what sort of fungi this is, but I prefer to think this Black Cherry tree is wearing a boa.

I think this is a wizened old tree that is waiting for winter.

Is beauty constant as the world whips by?

November is for late bloomers.

Sometimes you see the rain coming...

sometimes the branches catch you
before you fall.

This rose couldn't watch the other one fall.

but this one was completely broken up over it.

Autumn in Brooklyn

It's November, and the trees are beautiful, if the leaves are jumping off.

Dead leaves falling on live plants.

Election Day in Brooklyn, 2020

People waiting on a socially distanced line at City MD.

A police presence at Barclays Center, probably preparing for unrest.

I haven't been paying attention, have the Men's Warehouse and Victoria's Secret stores been boarded up long?

I'm pretty sure the Apple Store's cage is new, though.

Macy's is boarding its windows, but so are other stores on Fulton Street.

Pictures from the Botanic Garden

The Japanese pond with a rose and a fish.

The cool space under the dock.

Proof that all creatures adapt to live, even trees.

Is this bush trying to get away?

I think this tree might want to go for a run with me, except it's too tall.

The wind took away a limb, but that looked like it was over a story high.

The Jumping Rope Rhyme

Current Events: A Jump Rope Rhyme

Little Orange President sitting on a fence
Tryin' to make a dollar out of fifteen cents.
He missed! He missed! But he banked with Deutsche!

I think I told some people they could find my work here, but this is where I put photographs.  If you came looking for poetry and written words, please go to my other blog itsthebookblog.blogspot.com/

The current events poem is here.

Prospect Park, August 2020

We had a pretty bad windstorm a few weeks ago, and Prospect Park still looks pretty beaten up.

I'm kind of wondering when all of the debris will be disposed of, but I suppose asking such questions in the middle of a pandemic and while the city is suffering some fiscal difficulties is asking too much.

Those are two different trees that need to be removed,

limbs by the lake,

and woodchips!

Random pieces of tree!

I went running this morning and had seen huge piles of busted up trees.  I thought to myself, "I should take some pictures of those before the City picks them up."  I just barely made it.

On the other hand, I don't know when they're going to come pick these up.

I suspect this tree stump is from before the recent storm, but it looks cool.

I think this tree looks cool, too.

Or does the bike rider make the tree look more mysterious?
