Iceland

There are waterfalls all over Iceland, even right by the snow.

These are from the Gullfoss waterfalls.

I think they look prettier from a distance,

but seeing evidence of water moving right next to icicles is neat.

A smaller waterfall.

From the Hraunfossar Barnafossar park in West Iceland.

The zoom feature on my camera can give it a different perspective.

Wallpaper for your computer, perhaps?

Just to give you another sense of perspective.

Frozen faces on one side, and volcanic ash on the other.

The snow doesn't kill the trees.

What should you do if you get lost in a forest in Iceland?
Stand up.

From the geysir park,

Steam rises from geysers, which warms up some of the ice.

The surf in Iceland looks like this.

The obligatory wedding pictures.

It's not what it looks like.

There are poems in these pictures.

Surf?  Or Icewall?

Sometimes one side of the street get the snow, and the other does not.

Some water turns into rivers, which runs out to the ocean.

Iceland has plains,

but it also has volcanoes.

The Langjokell Glacier resembles a scallop in color, I think.

'
Here's our tour guide explaining that the different colors of the ice indicate the age of the ice.

A bar table in the iceberg,

where you might look down the ice corridor.

There are crevices in the ice.

Pictures from the side of the road,

which I think would make lovely wallpaper for me.

I love nature's geometry.

I caught a picture of a rainbow!!!

I hope the other photographers did, too.

The light often looks different.

It's dark for most of the day in Iceland in winter, but they still need to grow food.  This is why they have greenhouses with greenhouse tomatoes.

A bee trying to get back home.

They raise horses in Iceland.

I'm a New Yorker;  I travel and take pictures of other people's homes.

Reykjavik is on a peninsula;  you can see glaciers from other parts of Iceland in the center of town.

A bookstore's cat.

A beer cozy glove!

I had a great time and I will go back.  I never got to try an Icelandic hot dog!
