Los Glaciares National Park...the Glacier

You're RIGHT,  my pictures of Perito Moreno deserve their own section!!!

Perito Moreno is 74 meters high, and is still advancing.  It's HUGE.

That break happened 2 years ago.

I think I can see a frozen death eater there.

That ice cube is 240 feet above the water.

Where the icebergs wore down the mountains.

We weren't sure if that's an animal or an ice sculpture.

We're still not.


It's about the size of Buenos Aires, not quite 97 square miles.

Look!  It's an ice chair!

It just melts a little bit, and refreezes.

You can tell these two pieces were once connected....

It's been melting and refreezing for over 12 thousand years.

Here's an aerial view of the glacier to give you a sense of how big it REALLY is.

I think that's the same chunk of ice, but seen from the other side and from a boat.
